Jerry Thompson

William G. Thompson Jr. (Jerry) is a retired 31-year veteran of law enforcement having served with the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP). Jerry started with OSHP as a cadet dispatcher and ended his career as the Northeast Ohio LCS Unit Commander. 

During his tenure with OSHP to present, Jerry provides instruction in human relations to include cultural diversity throughout northeast Ohio and Kent State University Main and Trumbull branches. 

Jerry holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Management and a Masters of Science in Organizational Leadership. He is a graduate of Northwestern University Staff and Command School. In addition, Jerry is a certified instructor in DISC processes and a Train the Trainer instructor with the Arbinger Institute’s - Developing and Implementing an Outward Mindset program. 

Jerry’s sustained in-class instruction for FBI-LEEDA teaching leadership courses has earned him the distinct honor of being named a FBI-LEEDA Master Instructor. Moreover, Jerry serves as one of two Instructors that teach the agencies Reflective Leadership Course. This course focuses on leading an inclusive culture within agencies. The ultimate goal being to consider the diverse needs of the people in their current and future workplace contexts. This encompasses creating fair, unbiased, and inclusive cultures for the agencies and community. Effectively guiding individuals to realize the practical and moral value of cultural awareness and cultural intelligence. Integrating best practices for successfully navigating the complexities of our contemporary cultural context with integrity. Facilitating concrete pathways for fair and unbiased leadership development of all employees. Lastly, teaching leaders in cultural wisdom and integrity as models for the internal communities and the public served. 

Jerry is an entrepreneur having taken several products successfully to market and is the owner of “Listen” recording studio. 

Jerry is married to Beatrice, and they have two grown daughters and three adorable grandchildren.
